Privacy Policy
QuinScout handles the information needed to create, personalize, sync, secure, and operate your briefings.
Information you provide
When you create an account, QuinScout processes your email address, account identifier, authentication state, and related security records. Your profiles can include a profile name, topics, role, goals, location, briefing depth, delivery time, saved stories, reading progress, and feedback. Guest choices stay on your device until you sign in, when supported guest state is copied to your account.
How information is used
QuinScout uses this information to authenticate you, personalize and synchronize briefings, remember saves and progress, grant Premium access, prevent abuse, provide support, and maintain reliability. Limited request diagnostics, product interactions, browser or device context, and failure codes may be processed for those operational purposes. Passwords and full authentication tokens are not used as analytics properties.
Ask Scout and Anthropic
Ask Scout does not send a question to Anthropic until you explicitly allow it. If you allow, QuinScout sends the question you typed and the selected story’s source-grounded briefing context to Anthropic, a third-party AI provider, solely to generate the answer. Do not include sensitive personal information in a question. QuinScout does not intentionally save Ask Scout question text in its application database, although Anthropic processes the request under the API service settings and terms applicable to QuinScout.
Your permission is recorded with the current disclosure version. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings. Withdrawal stops future Ask Scout transmissions; it cannot undo processing that already occurred. If the disclosure materially changes, QuinScout will request permission again.
Other AI processing and audio
QuinScout uses Anthropic to help synthesize source material during its server-side editorial pipeline; that pipeline sends public source excerpts, not account profiles or Ask Scout questions. For Premium Audio, QuinScout sends an original narration script—not a full publisher article, account identifier, or typed question—to OpenAI for speech generation. The script and generated audio are stored privately in Supabase and normally expire within 90 days. Playback uses short-lived links and is rechecked against Premium access.
Subscriptions and payments
Apple processes iOS purchases and provides signed transaction and subscription-status information, including a QuinScout account token used to grant and restore access. QuinScout does not receive Apple payment-card details. On the website, card details go directly from your browser to PayMongo; QuinScout receives billing contact information and retains provider references and status needed to manage access.
Processors and sharing
QuinScout uses Supabase for authentication, database and private-file storage; Vercel for application hosting and request delivery; Anthropic for source synthesis and permitted Ask Scout answers; OpenAI for speech generation; Apple for iOS purchases; PayMongo for website billing; and configured email delivery infrastructure for account messages. These processors receive the information needed for their function. QuinScout does not use this information for cross-app tracking or sell it to data brokers.
Retention and deletion
Account profiles, preferences, saves, and progress are generally kept while your account exists. Ask Scout consent events remain until account deletion. Short-window abuse-prevention records normally expire within two days, and Premium Audio normally expires within 90 days. Deleting your account removes owned account data, consent history, and private audio. Limited transaction digests, detached Apple transaction tokens, security, fraud-prevention, billing, or legal records may be retained where needed; an Apple transaction token is retained so a valid purchase can be restored after deletion.
Deleting a QuinScout account does not cancel an Apple subscription. The app warns active Apple subscribers and links to Apple’s management screen before deletion. A renewing PayMongo subscription is cancelled before deletion; if cancellation cannot be confirmed, deletion does not proceed.
International processing and security
Service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their applicable safeguards and terms. QuinScout uses access controls, private storage, signed purchase verification, and encrypted network transport, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Children
QuinScout is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly seek their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information can contact us to request review and deletion.
Your choices and contact
